Base salary ( super etc) $120-$140K. It’s the start of a new era in Australian childcare The Federal Government's new Child Care Subsidy (CCS) took effect in July 2023, with the aim of making early learning (childcare) services more affordable for families. The ramifications of that will bring considerable change right across this sector, with many experts seeing it as the dawning of a new, more equitable age. This non-profit, member-funded and sponsored peak body organisation is at the forefront of this transformation, working on behalf of early learning service providers to ensure families and their children can easily access affordable, high-quality early learning services throughout Australia. Poised now for a new, high-energy, hands-on General Manager to provide guidance, operational know-how, new strategies and advocacy for the organisation, an informed volunteer Management Committee (previously the Board) is providing interim leadership while managing day-to-day operations. These advisors – all Centre owners - will revert to their prior roles once the new appointee has been inducted and settled. In this high profile and influential role, the new appointee will then ensure that all aspects of this (approx.) 800-member peak body are running smoothly and that its services – including education, training and management - are the best available for those members, the children/families they serve and ideally exceed the expectations of government and sponsors. To effectively lead, manage and grow this high-profile peak body through upcoming change, it’s expected you will bring a deep interest and thorough understanding of childcare services in Australia. Five years of experience in a leadership role in Early Learning, NFP, Community or a Membership enterprise is an indicator of the level of expertise required. Operationally focused and a solutions-driven problem solver, you will need to be a self-starter with an open mind, lots of energy and particularly effective advocacy and negotiation skills. Personable, sociable and systematic, you are an excellent communicator, proven in all aspects of people engagement and management.
