Princess Alexandra Hospital, Acute Surgical Team are looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their team. This exciting role’s primary responsibility is delivering senior Social Work services within Hyper Acute Stroke Unit and Neurology ward both located at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. This entails monitoring and reporting on work practices and outcomes, including initiating, planning and evaluating relevant quality and research initiatives. About the Role Manage an allocated workload to deliver social work services, including assessment, intervention and evaluation within an interprofessional team in accordance with established clinical & departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence-based practice and ethical standards and under clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of more senior staff. Liaise and work effectively in a professional manner with clients and their carers, other health professionals, students and external agencies to achieve a client centred approach, utilising negotiation and conflict resolution skills as required. Continually develop clinical practice knowledge, skills and expertise through self-directed learning, active learning within a team environment and engaging in professional development activities, including participating in the performance appraisal and development plans. Provide education, direction and supervision for routine tasks to less experienced staff, students and support staff, with the support of senior clinical staff.
