Due to our ambitious decarbonisation targets and growth in region we have a newly created role of Director of Engineering, Decarbonisation & Operational Support SEAK & JAPAC. The role will be based out of Sydney support office and report into our Director of Capital Planning & Projects SEAK & JAPAC. The core responsibility of the role is to provide direction & support to IHG's 'Existing Portfolio' of Managed & Franchised Hotels in the areas of sustainability and decarbonization. The role will help shape IHG's sustainability present and future, in line with our '2030 Journey to Tomorrow' decarbonisation ambitions. The role will look after a large geographic area of South East Asia, Australasia, Pacific and Japan. What we need from you To be successful in this role the following skills and attributes are highly desirable. - Bachelor's or Master's Degree qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent Technical and Managerial experience - LEED, BREEAM or other Sustainability certification preferred - Technical/ Property Management experience within hotels or a similar sector (10 years) - Strong knowledge of energy conservation measures including current and emerging technology, and their implementation and deployment - Proven experience of Managing & Co-ordinating wide-ranging activities in a multi property environment - Strategic thinker and ability to influence and communicate with senior stakeholders, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced complex matrix organization - Proven analytical capability and commercial acumen - A structured leader of internal and external professionals/ professional teams - Experience of successfully working with external Owning Companies and Asset Managers - Wide experience of ACOPS ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements are assessed and addressed, including but not limited to Electrical, Water, Asbestos and Gas safety systems - Experience in the optimisation of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Controls - Clear, professional, technical writing skills, with proven ability to read, understand and revise MEP narratives/ drawings - Full fluency and working knowledge of Microsoft tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc. What we offer In return, we'll give you a competitive benefits package including salary, private health, bonus and discounted accommodation worldwide and the opportunity to progress your career with IHG.
