The Opportunity VicGrid is looking for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer who can support our work driving Victoria's transition to renewable energy. Working in a fast-paced and information rich environment in our VTIF Plan team, the Senior Planning Engineer will work with both internal and external stakeholders to undertake an interesting body of work including power system analysis, providing strategic advice and assisting in the development of long-term reform plans, that will contribute to the Victorian Transmission Plan (VTP) and Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) development. What you will deliver Working collaboratively with various stakeholders such as consultants, AEMO, NSPs and inhouse teams, you will be responsible for leading these discussions and providing advice regarding REZ development and transmission infrastructure. Engage in the development and presentation of various expert communications such as briefings, correspondence, submissions and reports to various audiences including Ministers, departmental Executives and other stakeholders. Develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders and provide timely, informative and appropriate communications. Represent VicGrid at various program forums, conferences and meetings and ensuring accurate advice and information is provided to support any key decisions which are being made What you will bring Knowledge and experience in renewable energy project development, electricity demand forecasting, energy at risk and cost-benefit modelling, TAPR/DAPR, RIT-T, TCPR, will be highly desirable. A keen knowledge of Electricity Transmission System operation, planning and economics. Familiarity with PSS/E or PSCAD for steady state and dynamic analysis. Well-honed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
