At the moment, this role is focused on: Defining Technical Direction: owning and driving the team's technical strategy and roadmap, aligning with broader company objectives while articulating this vision to team members. You have a background or demonstrated experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure and source control systems. About the team The Developer Platform Group owns the coding life cycle at Canva - from ideas through to production. Our mission is "To forge a delightful ecosystem for engineers at Canva, amplifying their craft and enabling them to ship fast and correct. At scale." We create an environment in which developers can do their best work. You'll lead the Source Control team where the mission is to facilitate an environment for engineers to collaborate, that encourages rapid iteration and supports technical excellence. The Source Control Team envisions a future where source control at Canva scales securely, providing flexible integrations and guiding code structure best practices. It provides all Canvanauts with an intuitive platform to submit, review and merge code changes, where feedback loops are short and actionable so engineers stay longer in the flow and get their changes integrated easily in all repositories (including our big monorepo). In the Source Control domain, you're the service owner accountable for leading capabilities as core source code management, code ownership, code search and navigation, code security, code integration (GitHub) and codebase structure.
