Your next opportunity: The position provides technical support and undertakes, mine engineering, planning and scheduling activities for all quarries within the region. Ensures all mine engineering and mine planning activities comply with the relevant law's regulations, standards and operating procedures. Develops plans, schedules and quarry development strategies to improve and optimise quarry extraction and maximise the operations safety and profitability. Your day will involve: Audit quarry developments to identify assess and mitigate risks Review & develop mine/staging plans and schedules to reduce risk, comply with regulations and improve safe and profitable resource extraction Review and develop stripping plans and schedules for the region Provide advice and support to operations and Finance for preparation of capital applications Keep up to date volumetric data on stripped and extractable rock at each quarry Drive optimisation of drill & blast, load and haul, mobile plant & machinery selection Regular visits to quarry sites to support quarry managers Keep up to date with extractive industry and mine engineering and practices What are we looking for? 5-10 years' experience in active Quarrying or mining situations including some support and predominantly operations roles Open pit quarrying/mining experience in low and high-volume sites Experience in rapidly changing mining environments which exposed you to a variety of technical and operational challenges and solutions Experience and competency with Surpac mining software Civil engineering in earth works Mine planning, operational scheduling, optimisation of fleet, fleet selection Working with other technical support staff in other teams such as Safety and environment Working on remote sites with limited resources to call on Ability to work with an existing team and retain self-reliance Technology in relation to survey, drill & Blast, data accumulation and management. Understanding of mine regulations and or Work Health and safety guidelines What's on offer?
