Because together, we can create a better world. We are building a $500 million glass manufacturing and remanufacturing facility in Yatala, just south of Brisbane. The factory represents the large investment we have ever made, we recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland’s glass annually to produce 1 billion bottles a year. We are building next to our box factory and beverage can plant, this will create a beverage container precinct to further support of customers and a range of new career pathways for our staff. The project is expected to be operational in 2025. The Opportunity In this role you will report to the Plant Manager. You will lead plant maintenance, engineering and improve manufacturing performance. You will manage capital projects, including project expenditure request preparation and compliance with appropriate statutory requirements. You will have initial involvement in the design, installation, and commissioning of equipment. As we move to a the fully operational site, you will play a key maintenance leadership role, ensuring the effective utilisation of resources, and the development and implementation of cost-effective maintenance policies and strategies. Responsibilities: Ensuring that all company policy, legislative, safety, environmental and quality required standards are implemented as appropriate and adhered to by all team members, including personnel of service providers. Leading and developing a culture that ensures ownership of plant and equipment reliability by the entire maintenance team. Ensuring furnaces are regularly inspected and maintained to ensure glass quality meets customer specification. Ensuring maintenance plans to defined annual budgets, monitor, and forecast spending in a timely manner to ensure maintenance costs remain within plan. Ensuring all risk assessments on all new equipment or altered work methods are carried out with relevant plant stakeholders. Developing internal talent and management of succession. Recruiting externally where required, selecting diverse and high-quality talent to meet the needs of our business. What you will bring to the team: A diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering. Proven track record of leading large engineering capex projects. This may be upgrades to existing plant and equipment or significant green or brown site builds and expansions. 10 years of reliability experience in a similar large-scale heavy industrial environment. 5 years leadership experience in a similar role, leading large multi-functional engineering/reliability teams, within a unionised environment. Well versed in all maintenance processes and workplace health and safety regulations. Excellent interpersonal, time management, planning & scheduling skills, with strong stakeholder management. Strong computer skills with previous experience using SAP and CMMS systems. Experience in a high-volume continuous manufacturing environment. Experience in glass manufacturing would be beneficial.
