UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. The project scope includes: 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa Up to six new substation sites. This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for experienced Site Engineers to join the team. Key Responsibilities Development and implementation of work plans to meet project requirements. Monitoring key construction requirements to ensure they are achieved in line with agreed specifications and report to the Senior Project Engineer. Managing work conducted on site by subcontractors and suppliers. Implementing prompt and safe corrective action on site if required. Maintaining all relevant project document control and records. Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen. Requirements for this role: Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of bulk earthworks, foundations, slabs, and structures. Demonstrated site experience coordinating subcontractors, preferably in a large-scale infrastructure project environment. Ability to implement Safety, environmental and quality focus in project delivery. Ability to apply engineering principles to comply with scope of works and technical criterial.
