Transport and Development Engineering department is mainly responsible for providing advice to internal and external stakeholders in relation to traffic and development engineering, road safety, project development and management, as well as the management of school crossing supervision program, parking, and traffic enforcement. About the Role: The role is to investigate and resolve traffic and transport issues raised by the community and internal stakeholders and manage traffic and transport projects from start to completion. The position will also involve mentoring and supporting the Traffic and Transport Engineers to further develop their skills. Skills, experience and certificates Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Engineering qualification recognised by the Engineers Australia Valid certificate of registration or if you have commenced the process of becoming a practicing professional engineer pursuant to the requirements of section 12 of the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019 (Vic). Demonstrated 5 years or more of knowledge and experience in transport engineering, design and traffic management for roads, public transport, walking and cycling, preferably local government. High proficiency in verbal and written communication, negotiation and the ability to produce complex reports. Ability to undertake complex and sensitive tasks and to provide accurate and timely advice on transport related matters. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and deliver projects in an effective and efficient manner. Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant guidelines, standards, regulations, Acts and transport principles, policies and strategies of all tiers of government.
