Completion of a recognised ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS coding course or relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management/Medical Records Management with experience in clinical coding. Demonstrated high level current clinical coding knowledge and experience with current industry experience for a minimum of 3 years full time employment in a hospital environment using ICD-10-AM/ACHI, the Australian Coding Standards and the 3M Encoder. Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in casemix, DRGs and ABF with a demonstrated ability to produce accurate coded clinical data whilst meeting throughput targets. Demonstrated experience in the development of data/information reports and the development/implementation of coding quality improvement activities. Demonstrated high level computer skills and experience in using MS Office, a Patient Administration System, electronic medical record, 3M CodeFinder and other electronic coding resource materials. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to organise and prioritise a high volume workload and meet deadlines. Proven ability to determine integrity of data and problem solve. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in complying with the NSW Health Privacy Manual, with a thorough understanding of confidentiality.
