Our nurturing environment provides diverse learning opportunities for every child within our Centre. Our approach to learning is inspired by Reggio Emilia and guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. Through play, exploration and discovery, in a supportive and enriching environment, we cater for each child’s individual learning style and interests. Key Responsibilities  Plan, implement and evaluate a high quality preschool program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework in collaboration with other educators. Implement the Religious Education program including various forms of prayer and exploring scripture through story and play. Have a knowledge and understanding of nature, risky and play based learning. Review and evaluate the programs and services provided on a regular basis to ensure they are accessible and responsive to the needs of the community. Provide programs which enable the Preschool to meet the requirements of the CE policies and procedures, the ACT Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standards. Show care, respect and a commitment to confidentiality in all interactions with children, staff and families. Communicate with families about the preschool program through formal and informal discussions and regular written reports. Assess the developmental needs of children, including the need for referral to specialist services, and to provide information and advice for families. Participate and support within our wider community including the Primary School and Parish. Adhere to mandatory reporting and child protection legislative requirements. Have a commitment to professional improvement, through professional learning participation, staff appraisal and coaching and mentoring programs through whole school, ELC team and staff meetings. Teaching Accreditation. (TQI) Must hold a Working with children registration (WWVP) (WWCC) Certificates in First Aid (HLTAID004) Asthma and Anaphylaxis. Excellent pedagogical skills in an inquiry, play-based preschool program that considers the needs of all children and the indoor and outdoor environments for provocation and learning. Implementing an inclusive program based on recorded observations, analysis of learning and developmental needs of children. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and a sense of responsibility and self motivation with strong organisational skills. An understanding of the National Quality Standards and a commitment to contribute to the centres’ Quality Improvement Plan and centre philosophy Commitment and ability to work in a cohesive team. An understanding of the implications of legal, employment and child protection policies.
