Because together, we can create a better world. The opportunity: We are building a $500 million glass manufacturing and remanufacturing facility in Yatala just south of Brisbane. The factory represents the large investment we have ever made, we recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland’s glass annually to produce 1 billion bottles a year. We are building next to our box factory and beverage can plant, this will create a beverage container precinct to further support of customers and a range of new career pathways for our staff. The project is expected to be operational in 2025. Reporting to the Reliability and Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the design, installation, project management, operation and support of all plant process control equipment. You will oversee monitoring equipment, supervisory control servers, human machine interfaces and networks for both hardware and software. This position will commence working in our South Brisbane factory. As the build progresses you will spend an increasing amount of time in Yatala, where this role will be based. Responsibilities: Continuously improving the reliability, safety, productivity, quality, efficiency, energy use and environmental impact of systems and the machinery that they control. Ensuring that all statutory and company safety and quality standards are implemented as appropriate and adhered to by team members and contractors. Managing the overall operation, maintenance and upgrades of plant process control systems consistent with company requirements. Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Controlling labour, equipment and maintenance costs whilst ensuring the availability of adequate spare parts and consumables. Working in cross-functional teams to ensure the development, implementation and preventative maintenance of appropriate maintenance policies and packages for critical Plant Maintenance equipment in SAP. Coordinating the breakdown maintenance of plant process control services. Recommending improvements, modifications, upgrades and exchanges to plant equipment and machinery. Ensuring all control systems and processes comply with industry regulations and safety standards, while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks. What you will bring to the team: A control systems and process control background, with 5 years' experience in a continuous process plant engineering role. Experience in supervision and facilitation in a continuous improvement environment. Engineering degree, preferably in Electronic/Electrical or Computer Systems. Experience leading teams and working collaboratively to deliver improvement projects. Excellent communication skills both in verbal and in written form. Well versed in all maintenance processes and workplace health and safety regulations. Experience in glass manufacturing and A Grade electrical license would be beneficial.
