Drill & Blast Engineer McArthur River Mine | Northern Territory Glencore's McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. You'll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers worldwide. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure and communications. About the role: The Drill & Blast Engineer is responsible for design and management of the drill & blast pattern design process and will work with the operational team to deliver a consistent high-quality output of broken material for the mining operation. The engineer is responsible for the development and maintenance of systems, schedules, reporting and design work that integrates input from all technical and operational mining groups toward the drill and blast output. The ideal applicant for the role should possess: Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Mining or similar relevant tertiary qualification from a recognized tertiary institution. Demonstrated knowledge of mining engineering systems in open pit mines that includes a minimum of three years' site based experience. Experience in identifying improvements and implementing mining project outcome. Previous experience with blast design and modelling software (ShotPlus, BlastIQ) and mine design software (Vulcan).
