The RoleThe acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.Development and preparation of cost performance reporting for SSPD including validation and analysis of financial data between budget and actuals, working with stakeholders to provide in-year forecasting to inform the year-end financial position;Provide assistance with the preparation and ongoing management of SSPD budgets for effective reporting and forecasting;Provide advice, guidance and input on the financial aspects relating to simple procurement activities, including travel;Develop and maintain tools, systems and processes to effectively manage the SSPD transactional accounting data in order to support the business commitments and financial position of SSPD;Co-ordinate assurance activities to ensure invoice claims are accurate and compliant with contracts, laws, financial regulations and align with relevant Agency policies;Develop, implement and administer Business Processes and applicable Plans and Instructions relating to the financial and cost performance aspects for SSPD.About our TeamThe Business Cost Administrator will be required to work in a complex operating environment as part of the SSPD Branch, which is located in Adelaide. The routine business activities that the role will undertake includes analysis of costs, preparation of reports and briefs as well as provide assurance of business transactions.The position will collaborate with an array of internal and external partners in order to secure financial and costing information for the Submarine Build Phase, including shipbuilders, private sector contractors, staff across Divisions within ASA, Navy and Defence. The position is an integral part of the Business Operations Team and is accountable to the Business Cost Manager which supports the SSPD Business and Operations Director.
