Description Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Civil Site Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia. Key accountabilities: Assisting with planning, programming activities to ensure the most efficient use of resources and the completion of the project in accordance with safety, environment, specification, design and contractual requirements. Assisting with the supervision and management of subcontractors to satisfy budgets, quality, safety and programme requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable design, standards, QA/QC requirements and specifications. Development of effective and economically viable civil engineering solutions. Develop and strengthen stakeholder relationships to support project goals. Collaborate with the Senior Construction Manager and the construction team for ETCS L2 project execution. Produce & Manage ITP (CivilPro), Excavation Permits, WAB (Work Activity Brief) Ensure compliance with legislation applicable to the work group and its activities including Electrical Safety, Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Management. Demonstrate full compliance with Health Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements and initiatives. Education and experience: Degree in Civil engineering or equivalent engineering qualification which is acceptable for corporate membership of Engineers Australia. 2 years in civil engineering in a rail or civil construction environment (rail preferred) Demonstrated competency in implementing Health & Safety initiatives. Outstanding planning and organisational skills. Demonstrated experience working within a brownfield railway signaling environment. Knowledge of software tools and technical systems.
