You'll be creating specifications, design documents, and drawings to deliver a range of solar, battery, hybrid, and off-grid power systems. This will include a variety of duties, such as drawing schematics, creating design documents, configuring PLCs & protection relays, remote support for customers or technicians/electricians, and site trips for commissioning or fault-finding. You'll also be keeping up-to-date on emerging technology, Australian Standards, and state/territory DNSP requirements to inform our engineering designs. Lastly, you'll help to develop the skills of your colleagues (including engineers and technicians) in all aforementioned areas. Qualifications: We're looking for someone with a range of skills & knowledge, but the most important are: electrical engineering degree, electrical trade licence, or similar experience reading electrical diagrams/schematics CAD experience, preferably with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical. a desire to help design and construct renewable generation systems, such as solar farms, battery systems, and micro-grid/off-grid control systems skills in electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding exposure to equipment selection & conductor sizing per AS3000/3008 and we're hoping for someone with some of the following: exposure to switchgear or power system design, preferably in designing or installing embedded generation (gensets, PV solar, battery inverter systems, etc.) familiarity with communication wiring: Ethernet, passive PoE, RS-485, etc experience with PLC programming, preferably Schneider (e.g. Modicon, Pro-Face, or Saitel) comfortable with travel, occasionally to remote sites on overnight trips. knowledge of protection relays and basic electrical protection exposure to MODBUS, DNP3.0, and/or IEC 61850 protocols familiarity with AS4777, &/or various DNSP embedded & utility connection requirements experience configuring or troubleshooting Ethernet networks, including DHCP, NTP, etc Australian citizenship or permanent residency, and own transport
