As a leader of the sales team, you are essentially the playing coach Your role is to develop and mentor the sales team of 10 staff to deliver an amazing store culture in conjunction with our core values of Passion, Authenticity, Care and Excitement to exceed the needs of our local community. Key Expectations:As our Team Leader you'll lead and manage all in-store activities to achieve sales and profitability goals, as well as ensure long-term business growth in accordance with Intersport's brand philosophies, policies and procedures. You'll maintain the operating budget through revenue generation and managing controllables in order to deliver a positive financial performance. You'll also ensure consistent implementation of operating standards, including product flow planning and completion, execution of markdowns, seasonal promotions and initiatives and merchandise presentation. This opportunity also involves providing relevant market information to our owners and consistent leadership to your staff. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to recruit and hire top talent, provide ongoing coaching and counselling, implement development strategies, create succession plans, and effectively manage performance and corrective action processes.As Weekends and Holidays can be some of our busiest trading times, this role will require you to work some of these shifts. Essential skills / attributes: 2 years' retail experience at the management level. Natural leader and team player with strong influencing & coaching skills. Strong selling techniques and experience delivering high-level customer service through storytelling. Personable with strong people management & coaching skills. Knowledge of retail maths and KPI's. Understanding of footwear, apparel, accessories and visual merchandising to maximise sales. Basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook experience. Able to perform all managerial functions, including standing for extended periods, speaking clearly with employees and customers, climbing ladders to change displays, stocking and retrieving merchandise, unloading shipments and performing sale setups.
