The Opportunity: Design Manager - Water Projects A pivotal aspect of the program involves efficiently overseeing engineering and design operations. To meet this requirement, our client has assembled a team of highly skilled and proficient Design Managers. In response to ongoing and anticipated increases in workload, they are currently seeking additional Design Managers to bolster the Engineering and Design team. Design Managers will be responsible for: Ensuring the on-time, within budget, and quality delivery of project designs. Overseeing engineering governance processes such as design input control, change management, verification, and validation. Creating design fee estimates for both the "concept design phase" and the "detailed design phase" for each project. Coordinating the design team and interfacing with stakeholders and the construction team. Implementing appropriate risk management principles and methodologies. Being accountable for the successful design delivery on assigned projects. This role holds significant strategic importance for our future growth and influence. We seek individuals with a proactive attitude, strong consultation skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a track record of delivering results. Successful candidates will excel as team players and be adept at collaborating with various stakeholders, including influencing project leaders and assisting highly technical engineers in understanding commercial priorities. Ideal candidates should possess: 10 to 15 years of experience in the water industry or a similar process industry. A solid technical foundation in one or more relevant technical disciplines, coupled with a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent qualifications. Proven experience in taking responsibility for designs that align with project goals, legal requirements, quality system standards, and client expectations. Some experience in coordinating multi-discipline design activities. A good understanding of project management, contract management, and commercial management in the context of engineering and design activities. Proficiency in risk management and associated techniques related to engineering and design activities. Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
