Associate Product Manager (Legal Researcher - Westlaw) Description Are you passionate about legal research and how technology can enhance legal work? As an Associate Product Manager focused on Legal Research in Westlaw you will be using your legal research expertise to complete research projects and collaborate on new research capabilities and enhancements to Westlaw. This position requires someone keen to "geek out" on Australian law. Capable of completing accurate legal research projects across the legal landscape, you are creative, love to bring new ideas to life, and consider delivering superior results consistently a key aspect of what makes you awesome. This is a 15-month fixed-term position, reporting to the Vice President, Westlaw Product Management. About the role: In the role of Associate Product Manager - Legal Researcher Westlaw, you will be: Creating and refining legal Boolean queries to develop new research features for our customers. Evaluating and grading search queries to ensure comprehensiveness and relevance on the legal issues being researched. Working collaboratively with content, editorial, technology and UX teams. Identifying and solving problems, outliers, and deviations, collaborating as a domain expert with in-house teams to develop solutions and deliver transformation improvements. Working with customers. Analysing large amounts of data and evaluating complex information. About you: You're a fit for the role if: Others describe you as a legal geek or legal research guru. You love analysing data and legal research results. You have experience in professional legal environment (e.g. lawyer, knowledge manager, research librarian, paralegal). You have the knowledge to craft Boolean queries and enjoy analysing results of your queries. You want to work in an agile software development environment where you can continue to develop your skills and passion for legal research. You are a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously who thrives in a collaborative, social project culture. Skills and experience To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following requirements: A law degree or combined law degree a must. 2 years or more experience at a law firm, in-house legal department, the bar or related organisation is a must. In this capacity you have worked as a solicitor, barrister or in a professional services role such as library/knowledge management. Experience with legal research platforms and evaluating legal content a must. Experience in legal Boolean searching desired. Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively. Exceptional written and verbal skills, especially familiarity with legal terminology. Exceptional interpersonal and team facilitation skills. What's in it For You?
