Graphics – News and Current Affairs The main purpose of SBS News and Current Affairs is to provide the most accurate, balanced, and detailed coverage of international and major domestic news across all platforms. It is our role to deliver depth and analysis to help our audiences understand often complex issues through visual communication and design solutions. Designers showcase stories from within our many communities that reflect constructively on multiculturalism & Indigenous affairs. The Role As a member of SBS’s design team, you will be responsible for collaborating and producing state-of-the-art graphic design output across broadcast & digital platforms. Our core work focuses on the creation of compelling animations, information graphics, design solutions that inform and inspire our audiences. You will work closely with the design team, supporting the Design Supervisor to further ensure smooth operations and workflows across the newsroom. This role is fast paced and you will be focussing on timely deliveries. A global current affairs awareness and understanding is a benefit as we create complex maps and design solutions that reflect the state of the world. The position will be rostered to include evening shifts, weekends, and public holidays. About you Ideally, you will have: Strong background in the creation of information graphics that inform and inspire Advanced Adobe skillset; particularly After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator 3D skills are a bonus Communication skills - the ability to receive a creative brief and find the best design solution using the software available, to produce state-of-art animations and designs Positive and enthusiastic team player Passion for visual storytelling, artistic aesthetics, typography, and art Interest in world matters, global mapping and society including social media trends and designs Feel like you meet most, but perhaps not all the criteria listed?
