The role is full time and permanent working with a very collaborative team of Social workers and in a collegial Department where there is strong access to supervision, professional development and an opportunity to case manage and influence health outcomes for marginalised people. About you: We are seeking a skilled and energetic Social Worker who possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who are evidence based in their practice, open to challenging and complex psychosocial circumstances and hold the ethics and values of the social work profession as key to their engagement and work with all people. We are seeking a social worker who can problem solve creatively and work closely in consultation with the treating team. They will be holistic in their approach and always working with the dignity and needs of the person/ patient at the centre of their practice. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia 2. Degree in Social Work and eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with evidence of clinical experience in a tertiary hospital or health related field as a practising Social Worker. 3.  Demonstrated clinical skills and knowledge in psychosocial assessment, counselling, therapy interventions, case management, advocacy and complex discharge planning.  4. Demonstrated knowledge of crisis intervention, short term solution focused intervention and grief and loss.  5. Demonstrated experience and ability to work as a member of multidisciplinary teams in a high pressure environment with competing demands with sound negotiation and liaison skills.  6. Well-developed time management, prioritisation, computer, written and verbal communication skills.  7. Ability to contribute to research projects, quality improvement and education activities within the designated specialties and social work services. 8.  Ability to participate in an extended hours on call service.
