The Role As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Civil Remedial team as a Construction Manager. As a Construction/Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in discovering, securing, and delivering life extension projects for critical assets and infrastructure projects within Australia. Working closely with the General Manager (GM) – Remedial and the corporate group, you will ensure projects align with SRG Global’s core capabilities and business plans, exceeding client expectations and maintaining the company's high standards of project delivery. Typical specialist Remedial Construction works undertaken by SRG Global include: Façade repair; Concrete repair; Cathodic protection - sacrificial, hybrid and impressed current Bridge repair; Joint and structural crack repair; Application of protective coatings; Carbon fibre strengthening; Waterproofing and water penetration; Structural/ mechanical grouting. Key Responsibilities: Identify and secure profitable asset remediation projects in consultation with the GM – Remedial. Investigate and identify tangible tender opportunities for consideration by the GM – Remedial. Ensure innovative methods of construction are adopted with competitive pricing and achievable budgets are delivered in tender submissions in consultation with the National Business Development Manager. Represent SRG at any pre-tender and or post tender meetings as required. Foster key relationships with critical suppliers, partners, and clients. Coordinate Remedial and Civil activities, ensuring timely project completion within budget and client requirements. Provide strategic leadership to Project and Estimating teams for safe and efficient project delivery. Oversee tactical decisions, resource allocation, and staff assignments to meet project targets. Ensure contracts remain viable and within the commercial interests of the Company. Monitor, review and report on a monthly basis, progress and status of remedial operations to the GM – Remedial Proactively support continuous improvement measures to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Create a proactive and engaging team culture fostering innovation. Lead teams effectively, inspiring a clear vision for success. Promote transparent and two-way communication, encouraging constructive feedback. The successful applicant will ideally have: Education & Qualifications: Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification required. Professional engineering memberships desirable. Experience: Minimum of 10 years in the civil construction industry, with 3 years in a similar role. Significant knowledge of contract management. Extensive experience in tracking project expenditure and exploring financial opportunities. Skills & Attributes: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation capabilities. Flexibility to adapt to changes and plan adequately for them. Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills. Desire and ability to mentor other civil personnel on business functions and the commercial environment.
