In the role of Designer (Civil) you will work within a highly professional, multidisciplinary team to develop and review planning and design projects which contribute to the state's transport and infrastructure program. This position assists in providing technical and design advice and support to functional areas within the Program, Delivery and Operations Branch.Some of your responsibilities will include:• Develop and quantify transport infrastructure design models in the strategic planning, concept, development, and implementation phases of an overarching framework for the delivery of projects.• Use sound professional judgement when providing technical advice and support in relation to planning and design processes for transport infrastructure projects subject to standards. This can encompass corridor planning, program development, delivery, and finalisation.• Assist with mentoring and guidance within the local design group in the use of 12D Model for Design and AutoCad software and have a demonstrated history of project delivery using these programs.• Assist with the management and undertake key components of the planning and design function for transport infrastructure projects to achieve successful completion within time, quality, cost, and stakeholder expectations.• Ensure that planning and design principles are implemented in accordance with the relevant policies, standards, guidelines and legislation, and that quality management procedures are adhered to.• Exercise initiative in the selection and implementation of the most suitable design process for project delivery, including investigating, analysing, and conceptualising possible design options to meet project objectives.• Assist with the review of transport infrastructure design drawings and documentation provided by external design consultancies.• Development of effective relations with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address needs, expectations and issues that may affect the successful delivery of projects.
