Health Care Workers (HCW) are responsible for supporting healthcare professionals in delivering patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring the well-being of patients. They work under the supervision of registered nurses, physicians, or other healthcare providers. Yarrawonga Health is seeking a Trainee Health Care Worker to join our team in Warrina. If you are a caring individual with good interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in assisting in the care of residents this is the perfect job for you A HCW plays a crucial role in providing healthcare services to patients, assisting healthcare professionals, and contributing to the overall functioning of a healthcare facility. This trainee role will require you to complete a Certificate III in Individual Support within the first 12 months under a traineeship model. Working in Warrina, you will utilise a person-centred care approach to the provision of the physical and emotional needs of residents/clients. You will participate in their total care and orientate to their individual needs to enable them to live a meaningful life and maintain their self-respect. All clinical staff work all shifts across the 24 hour day and at 7 days of the week, inclusive of public holidays. Classification will be IN37. Health Care Worker Grade 1. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility. Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. Provide emotional support to patients and their families. Assist with the implementation of care plans under the direction of healthcare professionals. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities. Record observations and report any changes in patient condition to the healthcare team. Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members. Relay important information to the supervising healthcare professional. Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections within the healthcare facility. Maintain a clean and sanitary environment. Safety: Follow safety protocols to ensure the well-being of both patients and staff. Identify and report any safety hazards in the healthcare facility Desirable: Customer service experience Skills and Abilities: Compassion and empathy. Strong communication skills. Ability to work well in a team. Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting and manual dexterity.
