Your future role Austin is on the hunt for a skilled and experienced Customer Solution Engineer to join our dynamic team in Kewdale for full-time, permanent employment This novel role requires solid experience in engineering, with a strong background in customer-facing roles, and extensive mine site experience. As the new Customer Solution Engineer you will play a pivotal role in understanding client needs, designing tailored solutions, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Mandatory Qualifications & License Experience & Knowledge Reporting to the Engineering Manager-APAC, you will stay aligned with Austin Engineering policies, ensuring compliance with Austin Engineering Group Risk Management, Quality Assurance and Health, Safety and Environment management systems, including statutory obligations. Engage with clients to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and business objectives related to bucket and tray designs for material handling applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative engineering solutions for bucket and tray designs, considering factors such as material properties, load capacity, and structural integrity. Conduct thorough mine site visits to assess material handling processes, identify opportunities for optimization, and provide on-site technical support for bucket and tray installations and performance evaluations. Utilize advanced 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Creo to develop detailed designs and simulations for buckets, trays, and associated components, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. Understand capacity calculations to validate design specifications and ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations. Act as a subject matter expert in material handling systems, providing guidance on best practices, equipment selection, and maintenance procedures to clients and internal teams. Lead technical discussions and presentations on bucket and tray designs, highlighting key features, performance metrics, and potential improvements. Provide hands-on support during product installations, commissioning, and testing phases, collaborating with field engineers and clients to resolve any issues or concerns. Collaborate with sales teams to develop proposals, estimates, and project plans for material handling solutions, incorporating detailed design specifications and cost analysis. Lead cross-functional collaboration. Enthusiastically breakdown existing silo mentalities held by Business Unit leaders and drive a "One Austin" culture and mindset. Create and foster a customer service culture cross functionally so that all stakeholders and functions collaborate to be responsive, outcome focused and adding value across the group. Work closely with Global Manager Market Development & Innovation on sales initiatives, targets and plans. Work collaboratively with Global Manager Market Development and Innovation and Global Manager Operations to understand markets and market drivers for key customers and industry sources. SKILLS & EXPERTISE Experience & Knowledge To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have: Knowledge of contemporary trends and issues within the mining industry. Extensive knowledge of existing ANG products, specifications and performance. Ability to inspire innovative engineering and product design to meet client needs and enhance ANG's market share and profitability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate and assist others by sharing knowledge and experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with internal teams. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to project management. Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail. Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Qualifications Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent work experience. Member of Engineers Australia (CP Engineer preferred) Minimum 7 years experience in engineering roles with a focus on customer solutions and project management. Proven track record of successful mine site visits and hands-on experience in industrial environments. Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Creo is essential.
