The town takes its name from its railway station which was named in 1887. It is believed that the name Biboohra comes from a local indigenous language and refers to the Baron Falls. Today the population of Biboohra is just over 550 people. Biboohra is primarily an agricultural region, with grazing cattle and crops including mangoes, turf and sugar cane. There are plenty of things to see and do in Biboohra and the surrounding towns - taste local coffee, go hot air ballooning, or take in the unique landscape and learn about our region's history.
