Description About the role We are seeking dynamic and driven Intermediate and Senior Fire Protection Engineers to join our networked Fire Services team on a full-time basis. This is a National role and can be done anywhere in Australia. We are a collaborative team working on iconic and exciting projects including retail, hotels, commercial, residential, shopping centres, industrial, defense, mission critical, healthcare, correctional and education, across Australia and NZ. Ideally you will have a strong background in fire protection engineering and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. The role will enable the successful candidate to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a challenging and rewarding in career path in a successful consultancy. Day to day tasks would involve: Responsible for planning and managing projects from initial concept and briefly, through to installation and commissioning. Demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery. Provide technical competence in the planning and design of Fire Protection Services (not limited to Automatic Sprinkler System, Fire Hydrant Systems, Fire Hose Reel, Fire Detection / Emergency Warning Systems, Portable Fire Extinguishers / Fire Blankets, Gas Suppression / Water Mist Systems) for complex projects. Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships. Prepare and present presentations to external clients. Keep up to date with deliverables and meet project timeframes. Provide input throughout the Construction phase by attending meetings and conducting site inspections. To be successful for this role you'll need: Extensive experience working within a design consultancy environment. Degree qualified and NER listed. Have experience planning and managing successful projects. Strong Technical knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Relevant Australian Standards. Ability to review Fire Engineering Brief (FEB) and Fire Engineering Report (FER) and liaise with Fire Safety Engineers to establish Fire Safety Engineering Performance Solutions. Familiar with local fire system certification processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Positive, can-do attitude Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
