In addition, we have a generous superannuation scheme and an employee-driven Social Club to get you amongst the actionAbout your new branch:The City Planning Branch is responsible for long term planning and policy development to manage growth and development of our city while protecting the qualities that make Gold Coast City a great place to live.About your new role:This role is responsible for providing high level specialist strategic urban design advice, contributing to policy content preparation through written, graphic and illustrative methods to promote good quality outcomes for the city’s built and natural environment.The role also provides expert urban design advice for city assets and key strategic projects across all departments.What you bring to your new role:Interpersonal and communication skills, with particular emphasis in the areas of consultation on urban design and landscape architecture issues, negotiating and influencing important projects to gain resolution.Ability to work under limited direction, take initiative, ensure the completion of tasks and manage and support others to achieve successful outcomes.Works in complex frameworks, analyses and prioritises multifaceted levels of information and converts ideas and objectives into action plan and programs.Effective analytical, problem solving and investigative skills drawing on extensive knowledge and the latest research on urban design and planning practices.Capacity to identify significant urban design and landscape architecture issues in a regulatory environment and recommend appropriate responses and solutions.High level experience in project management with the ability to coordinate resources effectively to achieve milestones and deliverables, where collaborative action is required in a diverse work environment.Demonstrated high level of experience in preparing, implementing, and evaluating urban design policies and guidelines.You will possess a Bachelor Degree of Architecture and Urban Environment or have the equivalent knowledge.How to apply for this role:For more information about this role, please view the position brief on our job vacancy website.
