We are proud to work and partner with Friends with Dignity. Friends with Dignity is a volunteer based not-for-profit registered charity that provides practical programs to assist survivors of domestic violence in collaboration with refuge and crisis centres. The team work alongside these crisis centres and other organisations, recognising that the mutual goal is to reduce the instances of domestic violence in Australia. The Position We are looking for a Permanent F ull-time Warehouse Team Lead , based at the Meadowbrook location . This position is a little different from a 'normal' warehouse role. Friends with Dignity create Sanctuaries for families fleeing from DV home environments - which means that we receive and store all types of furniture and homewares that a family may need (warehouse responsibilities). This is where warehousing, logistics and removalist roles merge into one. You will also be helping volunteers to transport furniture and homewares from the warehouse to the Sanctuary , acting a little like a furniture removalist. Working closely with volunteers, COO and CEO your duties will include: Receiving and managing all incoming donations such as beds, whitegoods, and general household items Receiving and managing donation drives such as Christmas and Back To School Ensuring the effective storage of products and managing stock location to maximize space Picking and packing orders for a Sanctuary Furniture delivery to the Sanctuary Inventory management and working with the team to find the best process Engaging with corporate volunteers (generally once a week) and coordinating warehouse activities Engaging and overseeing general volunteers Ensuring Work Health & Safety requirements are adhered to Liaise with inventory controllers and donations coordinator to ensure stock is readily available in line with required levels Updating the stock management system as and when required Oversee the truck, safety aspects, and fuel levels etc About You Previous experience and proven success in a similar role in a warehouse logistics role Physically fit - heavy lifting and physical exertion is a large part of the role Good leadership and organisational skills Be a self-starter and self lead induvial Technologically savvy with good IT literacy Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective rapport building skills with a varied audience High attention to detail with a high level of accuracy Highly organi s ed and able to meet deadlines Forklift (desirable) and manual drivers license The successful candidate will need to provide a police background check (valid within the last 6 months) .
