We are looking for an Underwriter - Construction & Engineering to join our Business Insurance team. As part of this role, you will be responsible for operational underwriting functions, including policy renewals, new business, and midterm adjustments within Construction & Engineering products. Your key responsibilities will include: Manage new and renewal business within DUA to align with Portfolio Strategy. Ensure policy renewals meet current guidelines and address any necessary actions. Monitor policy performance for improvement opportunities. Collaborate for multiline opportunities and support the Corporate & Commercial Portfolio Strategy. Support effective processing and simplification opportunities Support strategic goals through collaboration and participation in Underwriting faculty activities. Identify and pursue development opportunities to enhance underwriting skills. Manage non-underwriting risks and adhere to the Commercial Quality Assurance Framework. Ensure operations within DUA and contribute to product audits and reviews. What you will need to succeed Minimum of 5 years of insurance industry experience across any of underwriting, broking, business development (BDC/BDM) or relevant Construction & Engineering industry experience (Engineer, QS, Construction Manager etc) Demonstrated ability to influence in the commercial insurance market In-depth knowledge of insurance products, market environment, and reinsurance. Skilled in underwriting, risk assessment, and regulatory trends. Ability to maintain and grow stakeholder relationships and market presence. Understands the regulatory bodies and the role they play Stays up to date with trends and future potential changes Trains others on current trends and future potential changes with the team What we can offer you: Free life, salary continuance and trauma insurance cover.
