Civil Designer — Canberra Region, Australian Capital Territory

Description About the role: Stantec are currently delivering some of Canberra's key Transport projects along with a variety of commercial, land development, civil infrastructure, and transport projects. We are looking for enthusiastic civil designers to join our established and growing team. This role includes civil design and documentation across a range of projects and sectors. Projects range from early concept design and master planning through to detailed design and construction documentation. Successful candidates will be developed in a professional and personal sense and provided with an opportunity to forge a rewarding career path in a successful consultancy working on the National Capital's most iconic projects. Day to day tasks would involve: Technical design and documentation utilizing 12d, Civil 3d and AutoCAD as primary packages. Design collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers and BIM/Infraworks modelers. Be responsible for project designs dependent on experience and complexity. Participate in meetings with clients and other consultants. Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures. Opportunities for site and field work. Qualifications To be successful for this role you will need: Demonstrated civil design/drafting experience within a consulting environment. Ideally have good technical design background in aspects of roads and civil design including bulk earthworks, roadworks, stormwater, sewer and water network design within reference to Transport for New South Wales, Austroads and local ACT Government standards. Demonstrated experience ideally using12D, however open to Civil 3D. Experience in stormwater management is preferred including packages such as TUFLOW, MUSIC, DRAINS and 12d pit and pipe design. A good understanding of Authority application processes would be an advantage but not necessary.
