The Role We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer/Data Modeler for our Sydney office. In this role, you'll specialise in business intelligence and analytics solutions for the life science industry. It's a rare and prestigious chance for a passionate data engineering expert to empower our sales, marketing, and commercial teams with informed, data-driven decisions across diverse data sources. Your expertise will drive the design and development of end-to-end processes supporting BI and analytics solutions. Join us in shaping the future of data-driven insights Responsibilities include: - Gather client functional and technical requirements and work with clients to develop a strategy that supports current and future needs - Design, develop and implement data marts / data warehouses to solve specific business requirements and enable reporting and analytics - Develop designs and data models for large scale engagement involving data modernisation, data migration, and end to end data management - Design & develop ETL processes using SSIS and SQL - Understanding the concepts of TOM and Programming Datasets - Dynamic deployments using Programming Datasets, Reporting Hub and SSAS offerings - Establish development standards and establish quality processes to deliver stable and reliable solutions - Validate that the design and end solution meet the specified requirements - Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the customer expectations are managed effectively - Work with service & support team to resolve escalated operational issues - Assist with business development activities, review, and analyse client requirements/problems and provide appropriate data engineering solutions You will bring: - Expertise in translating business needs into data management and engineering requirements - Experience with Data Modeling tools (ERWIN/SQLDBM) for fact tables, dimension tables, and PowerBI solutions - Work experience with ETL toolset such as SSIS - Excellent data modeling skills, emphasizing dimensional modeling - In-depth understanding of data management methodologies (e.g., Kimball, Data Vault) - Strong SQL skills for complex reporting queries - Proficiency in business intelligence, data warehouses, and advanced analytics - Recent experience with ETL tools on large and complex data sets (BI, MDM, DW, Data Lake, Bigdata) - Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate well with stakeholders, business and technical skills with good communication and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to influence, engage and build effective relationships at all levels internally and externally ?
