The Financial Controller - Engineering is a leadership role within the Financial Control and Reporting team, responsible for accounting, forecasting and reporting for the Engineering and Aircraft portfolios. This role requires technical accounting skills, strong influencing skills and the ability to manage and lead a skilled and high performing team. This position will lead, support and advise key senior Finance and Commercial stakeholders across the business including financial compliance policies and group management, and continuous improvement of the finance function whilst driving interactions of the finance teams. To be successful in this role you will be required to make appropriate levels of judgment and provide expertise in relevant areas, working closely with the Head of Financial Control and Reporting and acting as the key point of contact for both Segment and Group level Heads of Finance. You'll have: 10 years' relevant professional experience in financial accounting / management Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business CA/CPA/MBA qualifications People management experience - proven team leadership managing a team of 10 (analyst to manager level) Previous experience in similar highly technical financial controlling role in a large and complex organisation. Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills with strong technical abilities in budgeting, forecasting and forming insightful analysis Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a diverse group of stakeholders using key metrics and analysis Significant stakeholder management experience with the ability to influence positive outcomes at a senior level both of a commercial nature and technical accounting nature High level of people management and coaching skills with demonstrated success leading teams to success Ability to lead and take ownership of business unit results Demonstrated experience in partnering, influencing and challenging multiple senior stakeholders Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail Ability to control and lead multiple projects and issues at any one time Advanced knowledge of accounting standards and principles Why Qantas?
