The St George Hospital (SGH) Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and Allocation Office (NMSAO) is responsible for providing a centralised, customer focused, workforce management service for Nursing and Midwifery at St George Hospital. NMSAO is responsible for ensuring the Nursing and Midwifery workforce at SGH is prepared for the future. Our role is to build both capacity and capability of the Nursing and Midwifery workforce through integrated and comprehensive workforce planning to ensure staff can continue to provide compassionate and competent high-quality healthcare to their patients and local community. We work in collaboration with the SGH Nursing and Midwifery leadership team to ensure human resources are managed appropriately in line with policy, procedures and the various Awards, organisational responsibilities, expectations and the SGH Nursing and Midwifery Vision.   The NMSAO is responsible for a range of workforce related tasks for the Nursing and Midwifery service, including but not limited to: general and bulk recruitment, HCM/ROB expertise and support, StaffLink management, expertise and support, employee assignment management, separations and transfers of staff, record keeping, allowance management, workforce reporting, maternity and long service leave management. The NMSAO supports managers in workforce related matters and supports both current and future employees of our organisation.   The NMSAO Administration Officer Level 5 (AO5) will provide a range of high-level administrative support services to enable NMSAO to achieve their objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner. They will be responsible for providing a high quality, customer focused human resource service to the Nursing and Midwifery workforce at St George Hospital. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing. All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
