This position is an important part of the Cybersecurity Engineering team. You will have a deep understanding of security engineering principles and practices, as well as a strong track record of successfully designing and delivering high-quality security solutions. You will be responsible for the implementation of information security systems and preventing cyber security risks across NGM Group What will your key responsibilities include? Working closely with IT architects, engineers, developers and both our internal and external stakeholders, you will be responsible for: Develop, build and maintain cybersecurity systems and assess design effectiveness Develop and build security controls into business applications and infrastructure and assess design effectiveness Actively search for control weaknesses in hardware, software, and applications Work with Security Architect to develop security requirements for IT infrastructure, to ensure NGM Group’s security standards are met Assist in threat modelling to strengthen our security posture Support response to security incidents and investigate how they occurred Work alongside associated stakeholders to ensure security standards are maintained at all times Report to members of senior management on potential threats, proposed improvements, and ongoing security issues What are we looking for? Experienced hands-on technical engineer capable of understanding complex issues and managing them within a fast-paced environment. In-depth knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., networking firewalls/IDS/IPS, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, SIEM, access control, encryption). Exposure to Linux/Windows Operating Systems. Experience with cloud security tooling and cloud platforms (endpoint security, configuration management, Kubernetes, Azure, O365). Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field. Demonstrates the ability to identify, analyse and solve problems. Demonstrates the ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of mediums. Demonstrates the ability to adjust to changing situations and work effectively in a variety of environments. Experience in the following would be highly regarded: Information security qualifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH or CISM. Cyber Security Frameworks eg. ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, CIS. Technical experience of database and operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, SQL. What can you expect from us?
