About the role This role provides important support to development of projects both in the electrical discipline and in general project engineering. The development portfolio includes projects from early stages to near shovel-ready, and this role will be involved in supporting these developments as well as supporting projects in construction. Work with others in the multi-discipline Engineering team, as well as project development managers, project directors, the commercial team, asset management/ operational team, and external stakeholders such as contractors and consultants. Responsible for coordinating engineering activities in the development phase, preparation of conceptual designs and technical specification, supporting the procurement of wind turbine and balance of plant (BOP) packages, striving to deliver quality assets and delivering continuous improvement. Key responsibilities Project development Technical support to procurement Delivery support Asset management support Consultant and contractor coordination Technical due diligence Continuous improvement and innovation Team development Leadership Financial and risk management Health, safety and environment Skills, Experience & Qualifications Wind farm experience desirable (also, cable reticulation, substations, transmission lines, stakeholder/civil/utility coordination, design management, earthing). Experience with conceptual design of HV/ EHV systems, minimum 66 Kv and preferably 220 Kv and above. Understanding of electrical construction, power system analysis, electrical engineering (HV and LV), National Electricity Rules, generator registration Demonstrable experience in implementation of quality systems, risk, HSE and contract management is highly desirable . Strong understanding of project management discipline Strong technical knowledge in renewable energy Project development Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other relevant discipline Post graduate in engineering or related technical discipline is desirable Chartered Engineer (desirable) Full Driver’s License – Driving long distances required for remote site visits.
