About the Opportunity The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for the provision of enterprise data products to enable the delivery of solutions that drive business outcomes. You will develop, maintain and support the Enterprise Data Warehouse and Enterprise Data Lake. With a focus on continuous development, we are seeking to ensure that data is stored efficiently in structures optimised for performance. As Senior Data Engineer, you will have prior experience operating and delivering projects in Snowflake. This is a great opportunity to have involvement in big-picture thinking and make a direct influence on the business. This could be just the right role for you Join us in an exciting opportunity as we move to a new EDW roadmap and continue to utilise the latest technology. Day to day you will be responsible across the following: Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements Lead the implementation of robust, efficient ELT/ETL programs to minimise interruptions Regularly review data sources and structures to ensure they remain relevant and satisfy business requirements Provide support, training and guidance to Data Engineers and Junior Data Engineers Implement DQ processes to source data into the organisations data warehouse to match the requirements of the downstream stakeholders What you’ll need to be successful Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Statistics Minimum of 7 years' experience in design, development, enhancement, maintenance and improvement of ETL/ELT processes Advanced SQL and data modelling skills 2-3 years’ minimum experience in using Snowflake in an operational setting Minimum of 3 years’ experience in design, development, enhancement, maintenance experience in Cloud data stack, with a preference for expertise in Azure. This includes proficiency in Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Azure Logic Apps, among other relevant technologies Experience with CI/CD (desirable) Knowledge of AI and machine learning (desirable) Strong problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills A proactive attitude, strong organisational skills, and the ability to cope with pressure and meet tight deadlines Strong attention to detail while gathering requirements, documenting, communicating, and presenting The RACV difference We champion diversity, work inclusively, and believe every new voice brings brilliant new ideas.
