The Opportunity KBR have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our Building Services team in Sydney. This is a key role in the business and a great opportunity for someone looking to join a global company and take the next big step in their career. You will be heavily involved in a range of transport, buildings and Defence infrastructure projects focusing on the design of hydraulic service systems. This role works under general supervision as a technical specialist and performs all conventional aspects of hydraulic engineering while also devising new approaches to problems encountered. You will have an opportunity to plan, schedule, and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Who are you? As a Hydraulic Engineer, you will have experience in preparing and reviewing reports and technical specifications including hydraulic design of pumped systems, hydraulic equipment sizing, and material selection. The ideal candidate will have the ability to prepare and verify designs and calculations (including self-checking) using either manual methods or with the aid of computer programs through both concept and detailed design. Initiation of good relationships with clients (both internal and external) is essential to this role. You will also have the following skills and experience: Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or Diploma of Hydraulic Services with NSW registered certifier accreditation Design and document a range of hydraulic services systems. Experience designing Hydraulic systems including sewer, sanitary plumbing, tradewaste, stormwater, gas and water services reticulation systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of Revit MEP is desirable Familiarity with relevant standards and design guidelines to the hydraulic engineering discipline Ability to work closely with senior and junior engineers On the career pathway to registration as a Chartered Engineer / Chartered Professional Engineer / Registered Professional Engineer Queensland At KBR, we value you - here's how In addition to working on some fantastic projects, KBR offer an array of benefits focused on providing our people with a great working environment, continual career development, family friendly flexible work arrangements and work/life balance.
