The role reports to the Administrative Coordinator and is located on the Fremantle campus providing a combination of administration and technical support for the team. Key Responsibilities Provide administration and technical operations support for teaching and promotional activities within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Where required, demonstrate technical instructions on the safe and correct operating techniques of relevant equipment, and assist academics and/or students.Manage the day-to-day administration activities relative to the operation of the laboratoriesand related business for the Midwifery team.Establish and maintain detailed laboratory resource statements and preparation notes, as well as ensuring that laboratories are prepared for school activities.Guide and assist all staff Academic and Research as well as Higher Degree Research (HDR) students on equipment requirements.Work in partnership with the Safety team to establish and maintain safety documentation risk assessment, safety audits, standard operating procedures for laboratory and field activities and applying new safety procedures and essentially advising staff and students when required.Contribute in planning and timetabling of laboratory programs.Communicate with external agencies and suppliers for materials and equipment by utilising the university financial system.Assist with the supervision of technical projects for small groups of students, dissertation projects and small workshop classes.Manage and perform regular calibration and maintenance on relevant equipment ensuring it is functional and safe to use.Organise with internal and external agencies to service specialised equipment.Actively contribute to the planning and timetabling of laboratory programs for the Midwifery team.Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and University policies and procedures, including equity, health and safety. ABOUT YOU Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.Completion of an undergraduate qualification in Bachelor of Midwifery (essential).Demonstrated midwifery clinical experience.Experienced in the demonstration and use of equipment in a learning and teaching environment.Demonstrated experience maintaining equipment inventory including servicing.Ability to collaborate across multifunctional teams across the university and provide a high level of service and response time for queries.Proven record of preparing high quality documentation with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.Proficient computer skills in the application of various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite, student administration systems and adaptable to learn and implement new systems.
