12 month assignment from commencement Negotiable location in Sydney Paying up to $101.60ph super WFH Flexibility About the Role Our client are a very well established NSW Government statutory corporation who are responsible for supplying the state’s bulk water needs, operating the state’s river systems and dams, and the bulk water supply system for Greater Sydney. They are now in need of a highly experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to come in and assist them on a 12 month assignment with their team in Parramatta NSW. Candidates for this position will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, along with project delivery or onsite maintenance experience in Construction. Extensive experience in design, construction or maintenance in heavy industrial engineering or utility environments and exposure to asset management of mechanical equipment is also highly desirable. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will provide engineering expertise and coordination to ensure project front end loading is completed effectively. The work scope includes defining asset requirements, technical investigations, asset assessments, options development, options analysis, project scope and technical specification development and puts safety first. Key responsibilities will include: Lead and coordinate asset condition assessments, analyse findings and provide risk based recommendations Lead and coordinate technical investigations to understand the root causes of asset issues and system constraints. Lead development and coordination of solution options identification, options development and options analysis. Options development includes concept design, technical studies, Safety in Design assessments, cost estimates, life cycle cost assessments and performance assessments. Engage and manage engineering consultants for condition assessments, technical studies, and options development. Manage day to day interface with Operations Asset Planning team, stakeholders, consultants to meet the program quality, schedule and cost requirements. Provide technical support and recommend actions across all project phases to ensure that engineering designs meet operational requirements and engineering standards. Please note you will work 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day. Your location is negotiable and there will be WFH flexibility. Flexibility to travel to metro and regional locations is required as part of this position. About You You will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with proven experience and reliability in previous positions. The successful candidate will possess: 5-10 years relevant experience. NSW White Card Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher form of tertiary institution or an Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and suitable relevant experience Experience in asset maintenance, renewals and asset management.
