Job Title: Firewall Administrator Public Sector client 10- Month contract Parramatta Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Firewall Administrator to join our government client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the configuration, management, and maintenance of our client's firewall infrastructure. Responsibilities: Configure, deploy, and maintain firewall systems to protect networks from unauthorised access and intrusions. Monitor firewall logs and traffic patterns to identify and mitigate potential security threats. Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues. Perform regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions for improvement. Provide 24 x 7 coverage on First and 2nd level support as required by being on call. Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats and trends to proactively enhance firewall configurations and security measures. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in firewall administration or network security. In-depth knowledge of firewall technologies, configuration and maintain and maintenance of Checkpoint, Juniper routers, firewalls, and other network equipment. Hands-on experience with firewall configuration, rule management, and VPN deployment. In-depth knowledge of IT operations infrastructure systems and configurations Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
