To be successful you should ideally be highly motivated, team-focused, and student-centred with qualities that promote, build, and maintain enthusiasm and engagement with language learning. You should possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative manner. Previous experience with teaching primary level languages will be highly regarded. Teachers who have additional expertise in key school approaches will be viewed favourably. These approaches include Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), co-operative learning, up to date evidence-based classroom practices and positive behaviour approaches. You should have a strong knowledge and commitment to the outcomes of the West Australian Curriculum. Dianella PC has a diverse school population, with approximately 80% of our school population coming from an English as an additional Language/Dialect (EALD) background. We have an onsite Intensive English Centre (IEC) and as a school we utilise the EALD progress maps to guide planning in our IEC program and for EALD students in our mainstream classes.
