Canberra based, full time permanent role Design complex microwave and RF electronic systems Attractive performance based bonus MCS is seeking a seeking an experienced Senior RF Design Engineer to develop innovative and highly complex microwave and RF communications systems. You will have access to advanced tools, design software and testing facilities and the opportunity to work with renowned experts in the field in a cooperative interdisciplinary environment. The position requires a strong background (5 years) in RF Design, Microwave engineering, RF and Microwave design, EM modelling tools and PCB Design. Position Overview: As key member of the RF team you will play a key role in designing radio subsystems to operate in VHF, L/C/X/K-bands. The ideal candidate has a strong background in design and implementation of products for deployment in hostile environments as well as a passion for delivering innovative and high-quality solutions. Typical design projects might include PA driver/amplifiers, TX/RX switches, directional couplers, power harmonic filters, active circular polarised antennas, phased arrays, power dividers and power supply design for radio subsystems. Technology used can have complex 10 layer stack-ups on advanced substrates. Important Information: Must have Australian Permanent Residence or Australian citizenship. Access to technology controlled under USA ITAR is required so your nationality history may limit eligibility. Based in the Canberra office and is unsuitable for remote workers . Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required Tertiary level qualification in Electronics/Electrical Engineering 5 years experience in RF and microwave system and subsystem design Ability to design RF circuits, such as amplifiers, filters, mixers, and oscillators Expertise using RF testing equipment, spectrum analysers, network analysers, and VNAs Experience with EM design tools such as Ansys HFSS, EMPro Antenna design experience is desirable Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective communication skills to collaborate with other engineers and ability to present your work MCS Consulting has been a trusted Recruitment advocate for over 25 years to many companies in high value Manufacturing, Finance, R&D, IT&T and Government.
