Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital The Administration Assistant is responsible for providing high-level administration support to the relevant department. Communicate effectively with all customers and patients using the appropriate channels, utilising appropriate formal and informal channels of communication. The Position Participates in determining and evaluating the quality of care being delivered to patients. Co-operates in data collection of hospital-wide Quality Activity projects and Clinical Indicators. Ensures that the need of the customer, both internal and external, receives the highest priority and that the objective is to exceed the customer’s expectations. Manage the telephone lines and sensitively handle telephone calls from patients. Answer all incoming calls and ensure that the telephone system is maintained. Liaise with ward clerks, medical and nursing staff to ensure the completion and accuracy of rehabilitation, psychiatric, coronary care, neo-natal, overnight, day only or acute care certificates as required. You will provide sensitive management of the reception area, dealing with patients and other stakeholders who inquire about the service and welcoming patients who come for appointments. Well-developed organisational skills, with an ability to manage your own workflow and cope with competing demands. To succeed you will have advanced skills and knowledge with a range of computer packages, particularly the Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated ability and commitment to maintaining confidentiality, sound analytical and report writing skills and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team environment.
