About the role: The Mechanical Engineer ensures the continuity of supply and production in the most cost-efficient way, while meeting all statutory, compliance and policy obligations for health, safety and environment. You will ensure that equipment and assets are maintained to meet high standards of reliability and availability whilst meeting all necessary process safety and integrity standards and requirement. This permanent position will be Roma based, working in the Roma office with frequent site visits, staying overnight in camp as required. The successful candidate will be living local, or willing to relocate for the position with the support of Origin. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for: Supporting Asset West production operations and field maintenance activities to ensure they operate safely and reliably and meet target production volumes in a cost effective and environmentally responsible way. Support in troubleshooting and debottlenecking with a primary focus on field support, including problem identification, solution options scoping and implementation. Reporting of Mechanical Integrity performance, ensuring that plans are aligned to integrity, performance requirements and industry best practice. Undertaking changes, modifications and small projects in accordance with the management of change process. Assisting and input to process safety/HSE investigations following incidents or observations. Providing guidance and training to field personnel, assisting them in meeting their objectives. Supporting resolution of issues related to static mechanical equipment including piping, pumps, hoses and manual valves. Providing engineering support to commission, provide quality assurance, and validate any management of change requirements in support of Asset West. What will you bring? You have a proven ability to manage change processes, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and innovation. You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to plan and liaise with various stakeholders to ensure common goals are achieved. You will also demonstrate: Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships across all levels from frontline to senior and /executive management A sound knowledge of risk management processes and risk-based decision making Proven project engineering and project delivery of small projects Mechanical engineering degree (RPEQ preferred), with several years oil and gas experience preferred Origin - Where good change happens At Origin, we’re powered by people who believe in creating change.
