What the role will involve The responsibilities of your role will include the following: - Develop and prototyping of new power and control circuits, including programmable logic devices, or design modification of existing products - Programming and simulation of logic circuitry in VHDL using Xilinx - Develop software for microprocessor-based circuits, including serial communications interfaces - Generate DC schematic diagrams and lay out DC PCBs using Altium - Creation of DC power budgets to track power consumption - Documentation of product design either directly or through supervision of contractors or drawing office staff as appropriate - Perform stress analysis and reliability predictions - Qualification testing of new products, including EMI/EMC, etc - Ability to deal with customers and present design details during customer reviews - Review project schedules and meet financial and time constraints - Participate in R&D meetings to evaluate new technical opportunities and contribute to company strategic direction What you'll bring The role of Hardware Engineer requires the following experience and skills: - Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline - Experience as a Hardware Engineer - Experience in programming and simulation of logic circuitry in VHDL using Xilinx or Altera - Knowledge of Altium with regards to generating DC schematic diagrams - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Accuracy, thoroughness, persistence and attention to detail About Us L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems Australia is a Brisbane based subsidiary of L3Harris and part of our ICI Division.
