Job no: 994605 Work type: Full-Time Location: Melbourne - CBD & Inner Categories: Design & Development Purpose This is an exciting opportunity for a Womenswear Designer with experience in Tailoring to join the Country Road team. You will be managing a team responsible for the design, sourcing and development of the range, and play a huge role in the growth and success of the brand going forward. Key Accountabilities Design product range ensuring it aligns with Country Road brand document and meets our image, option plan, price points and margin in conjunction with Head of Design Manage the strategic design brief selecting seasonal colour palettes and discussing trends in silhouette, fabric and colour Travel internationally with Head of Design to research overseas trends and markets; purchasing samples relevant to the range, sourcing new styles and graphic /print and application techniques Maintain focus on target customer and attract new customers through range Work collaboratively to implement approved business initiatives through existing operational structures and ensures ownership Lead and develop the Junior Designers / Design Assistant to ensure they are equipped and motivated to achieve functional goals Utilise forecasting information provided to contribute to the design brief and build range Prepare and present design briefs and ranges to EMC Interact with stores, Merchandise Manager, presenting the range and talking through key looks Liaise and build relationships with overseas agents and key stakeholders to communicate styling and design concepts. Key Capabilities A tertiary design qualification and previous experience in a Designer role for Womenswear (Tailoring experience essential) Experience building ranges taking into account core, seasonal and aspirational elements Advanced skills in Illustrator and Excel Excellent communication skills, ability to work within team High Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills and deadline driven Strong problem solving skills Team member capability and succession development Personal Leadership.
