We're looking for an experienced Senior Hydraulics & Fire Designer to join our Building, Engineering & Marine team in Brisbane. In this role you will provide value adding detailed design services for hot & cold water, storm water drainage, sanitary plumbing and drainage, gas services, fire services (hydrants, hose reels and sprinklers), fire suppression systems and on-site sewerage systems. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Detailed design services for all hydraulic/plumbing services (hot and cold water, sanitary drainage systems, gas services, and rainwater systems) Detailed design services for fire suppression services (hydrants, hose reels and extinguishers). Take a lead on client engagement and relationships aligned with business plans and market development strategies. Expanding GHD's client base by identifying potential new clients and promoting GHD's services including the cross-selling of opportunities within the existing client base. Providing leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members. What you will bring to the team. Trade or Tertiary qualified professional with QBCC or RPEQ registration. Minimum of 12 years' experience in a Hydraulic / Fire protection Design or Engineering office. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of AS/NZS 3500, AS 2419 and AS2118 as well as the NCC. Have high level competencies in the design and documentation of: Sanitary Drainage and Venting. Stormwater Drainage. Fuel Gas. Hot and Cold-water reticulation. Hot water generation. Fire Protection Services including Sprinklers. Ability to structure and write professional technical reports. Proven experience with writing winning proposals, work up fee estimates and deliver work within budgets. Ability to lead a team. Ability to lead projects.
