Snowy Valleys Council has partnered with Total HRM, in search for a passionate Early Childhood Teacher who is looking to take the reins and make the classroom their own. In this supported but independent role, you will work in the charming town of Khancoban, with the preschool situated on just over half an acre of gardens, creating a welcoming and nurturing environment for the children. About the role: You will develop and deliver an educational program that fosters children’s interests and stimulates children’s passion for learning You will build and maintain professional relationships with the children and families You will establish and maintain a learning environment both indoors and outdoors that is stimulating and provides a wide range of resources to support the children's development You will maintain expert knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF) to support the centre's performance in meeting the required National Quality Standards (NQS) You will work together with your direct report to ensure a safe, positive and encouraging environment for the students. Skills we are looking for: Either a Diploma in Early Childhood Education or an approved Early Childhood Teacher degree or can demonstrate you are actively working towards this qualification (essential) You have room leader experience (desirable) You have experience in implementing children’s services programs. You can prioritise work, manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team without direct supervision You have a current First Aid qualification NESA Accreditation or working towards Working at Snowy Valley Council: Snowy Valley Council services two main centres and seven towns and villages. The population across the Snowy Valley Council region is 14,884, of which 280 are employed by the council. The Khancoban preschool provides an early childhood education program in accordance with The Early Years Learning Framework providing play-based early childhood education for children aged 3 to 5 years with the flexibility of providing casual positions to 2-year old’s. Other Childcare services in the region include the Carcoola Childrens Centre, Puggles Children’s Services Van, Tumboosh and the Toy Library. Contemporary experience in a supervisory role or extensive technical experience with demonstrated leadership potential. Contemporary experience in implementing children’s services programs. Contemporary knowledge and demonstrated application of Australia Children Services Delivery (e.g. National Quality Framework and Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics). Demonstrated ability to prioritise work, manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team without direct supervision. Class C drivers’ licence. First Aid qualification Demonstrated ability to provide a high standard of customer service to internal and external customers. Competent computer skills.
