Location Perth, Western Australia, Australia Job Type Contract Date Added October 17, 2023 We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work within our client’s facilities located in Perth, WA offered on a 12-month initial contract with potential extensions. T he Role The primary purpose of this role is to drive and deliver safe and sustainable ‘fit for purpose’ mechanical engineering services for a large project facilitating the design of a new fertilizer mine. This is an international major project with a portion of the scope based in the Perth office. You will be working within the mechanical discipline project team and interfacing with other client offices. Responsibilities: Preparing detailed deliverables such as: drawings, specifications, scopes of work, calculations, technical reports, datasheets, tender documentation, requisitions, estimates, budgets and schedules for scope variation and technical queries. Conducting appropriate studies/optioneering of solutions, analysis and recommendation of suitable actions. Review of supplier data and liaison with mechanical equipment suppliers. Undertaking tender bid evaluations Providing input and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities Upholding the change management process and ensuring that the project, and any changes to the project, comply with policy, regulatory requirements, and scope. Produce high quality well-structured and coherent technical reports documenting study findings, results, and recommendations. Participate and input into in project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs and safety in design workshops as required. About You An Australian recognised Bachelor qualification in mechanical engineering. Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia. Experience working on Resource sector projects. Experience across the phases of engineering projects from feasibility/conceptual studies through to detailed design and execution. Willingness to attend site for short stints from time to time for project familiarisation, data collection, asset assessments, inspections, and site construction/commissioning support. Experience with materials handling systems (conveyors, stockyards, material screening/crushing etc) that includes equipment sizing and selection, knowledge of bulk material flow properties and design fundamentals of bulk material storage and transfer infrastructure and experience with input into plant layout and design, with operations and maintenance in mind, including knowledge of AS 4024 and awareness of other discipline requirements. Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and discipline specific software including: oSidewinder / Beltstat (highly desirable). oAFT Fathom / Fluid Flow 3. oAnsys Rocky oNavisworks. oPDFXchange / Bluebeam / Adobe Suite.
